DESIGN CONCEPT Whether in soft canvas straps or leather straps, strapping has long been one of SINKing’s signature elements. We see it as a subtle tension between restraint and movement. Multiple layers of leather straps wrap horizontally around the shaft, secured with metal hardware. They can be purely decorative, or they can point toward the act of binding. A question of locking, and of opening. It isn’t overly elaborate. It remains restrained, expressing itself through the language of its construction. The black canvas of the shoe has a rough, tactile surface with a naturally tough character. We believe it only gets better with wear—the more worn-in it becomes, the more character it gains. The chunky sole gives the shoe a certain visual weight and hardness, while the thin sole offers its own distinctive lightness and agility. Either way, we try to return to the language of the subcultural and underground. A question of restriction, and of breaking free. Still available in sizes #35–#43, embracing a broad range of sizes.
